How to mount 2 subwoofers inverted?

Can i invert mount these subwoofers to this box?

  • Answer:

There is nothing wrong with inverting them. The only thing you need to account for is that when you invert a sub there is more internal volume in the enclosure because your sub is no longer taking up space inside the enclosure. I would not recommend that enclosure for your subs. It is not going to give you very good performance from your subs. First, that enclosure is made for 10" subs not 12s. Also, the internal volume is going to be small and the tuning frequency is going to be very high. This will likely end up giving you very bad sound quality. Yes, it may be somewhat loud but it is very unlikely it would sound good. Those prefab enclosures are also built very cheaply. The materials they are made out of are not very good quality. This will also poorly affect the overall performance. I suggest either making an enclosure yourself or getting one custom made specifically for your subs. If you have some basic tools and some time you can make your own enclosure fairly easily. I you let me know I may be able to help you with the design that would actually work well with your Type-Rs. Good Luck!!!
