How do I get my CD out of my car stereo?

I have a CD stuck in my car stereo and no car. How can I power up the stereo to get the CD out?

  • Answer:

You can connect it to any 12-volt battery: car battery, lawnmower battery, 12v cordless drill battery. Connect the black wire to the negative terminal. Twist the yellow and red wires together and connect them to the positive terminal. This should power up the deck long enough for you to eject the CD.

Get the red and black wires coming out of the back of the stereo. You can connect them to a riding lawnmower, motorcycle, or car battery to power it up.

Knock N

Connect a 12V DC source to the power source of your Stereo and hit the eject button.

Isn't there a little, tiny hole on the front of the stereo where you can stick a thin wire and release the CD?

Buy a new car, remove the new stereo and install the old one. Eject the CD, swap stereos and trade the car back in. Or you could get off the $12 and buy a new CD!!!
