CAR RADIO stereo system?

Installing System and Stereo in my car Questions?

  • Hello everyone. I do have a few questions about installing a system in my car. I have installed systems before, and I just never had a decent car before. Always a bunch of fixxer uppers and beater hoopty cars. Well I finally have my first car payment and a newer car. It is a pre-owned 2008 g6. I really like her. I do have a question. ON the center of my dash, where the stations and outside temperature that shows all the diagnostics in my car. It tells me my tire pressure for each tire throughout my car, and trip meters, and yadayada yada. Its like the brain telling my brain what to see. Ok too the point. I want to install my own stereo to it, and radio system throughout. New door speakers, new tweeters, and subwoofers. I have a touchscreen pioneer t.v. that I really like and I want to put it in there. However, I am afraid if I install the t.v./radio player, that I will not be able to see my oil percentage, my tire pressures, and outside temperatures and such. I really do like these features, I know there common in most cars and such, I was just wondering if there was anything that they sold that might keep these features inside the car wether its another instrument or not. I don't know if this makes any sense or not, but I just don't want to do anything without knowing options. as far as my system goes, I was thinking of updating all the speakers inside, the door, the tweeters, the rear 6x9's with maybe either Pioneer speakers, or alpine, I do want to keep everything the same. So whatever sub's I end up getting I would like the other speakers to be the same makes as well. I used to run all pioneer before my car got robber and stripped in my civic. I don't know for sure what subs I want, but I am debating either 3 10's with 2 1000 watt amps or 2 12's, with a 1000watt amp each sub. I think the twelves will be a better bang but the 10's should be cheapers in the long wrong. Just looking for some idea's. Pioneer subs seamd to last the longest for me, however I am feeling alpine for some reason. Time will tell..... thank you everyone for your time.

  • Answer:

I would go with Alpine... Though I love Pioneer decks! But Alpine makes better speakers and subs... I would just go with 2 Alpine 12" Type Rs, with an Alpine MRD-1000 mono amp, or if you have the money go with a PDX-1000 mono amp... Both will do the subs justice though... As for your deck, if you really like it, then just keep it... You can always get a hi to low converter and just tap into your rear speakers to run your sub amp... Or less you are gonna run a 4 channel, then just get a new deck, but if all that is built into your deck, its gonna be pretty much impossible to recreate... I mean you could get a set of gauges, but thats a lot of wiring and bull ****... You definitely dont need 2 or 3 amps... I mean or less you are gonna get some retarded strong subs... Cause you could even get 2 Alpine type X subs, and run them on 1 MRD-2000 and it would be perfect... The 3 10s will probably be louder though... Hope that helps...
