I have 1400 watt subwoofer. 700 watts each power peak how many watts on an amplifier do I need?

What u need to figure out is not how much the peek is but the rms is each. U always go by rms watts not anything else. Figure out what ur rms is and then come back and ask and someone can answer. Generaly watever ur rms is u get a amp for about the same. For instance the sub I am planning on buying is 2000 rms so I am planning to get a amp that puts out 2000 rms.

Yes, figure out the rms wattage, its usually half of the peak power. Audiopipe has very good amplifiers on ebay, they do not exaggerate their power rating. ALL shops charge you more than online for parts, its just the only way they can make money; I bought a solo x 18 on ebay for $500, loudest sub in the world.
