What amp would you recomend for this subwoofer?

Which one do you recomend and why?

  • ok here is the deal, i want to buy a new subwoofer and i'm going to spend $300 just in the sub. i have been researching on what to buy but the more i look the more confused i get. i have some brands in mind sundown audio RE audio rockfordfostage kicker MTX i was about to buy the RE sxx12d2 but i'm not shure if its the best option NOW wich ever subwoofer i buy is going into a 2cubic ft ported box and as for preferences i'm looking for a reliable and loud sub and like feeling the bass too. so what brand is the best bang for the buck? what do you recomend and why? is there any better brand for the price? what amp should i buy to power it? should i buy a square sub? thanks for the help

  • Answer:

the RE audio sxx is probably the best option. only downside which is very minimal is its rubatek foam subwoofer surround. but its a very good subwoofer in the price range. in has the widest Xmax and highest sensitivity in the range, which should equate to a better SQL to SPL. also i would recommend a JBL w12GTi subwoofer. very high SQL, specs close to the SXX12. but will need a very powerful amp as it is a 6ohm sub. I've heard this sub once in a inverted sub set up (sub magnet facing outward)in a box that looked to be about 2cubic ft/ported. The bass was really heavy and clean. It for sure has the nicest magnet i've seen in the sub 400$ range.
