How would I wire subs to AMP?

How would I wire 3 1000w subs to an amp that puts out 3000w bridged from to channels and get 1000 to each sub?

  • I have 2 12" volfenhag subs that are 1000w and an audiobahn 10 that's also 1000w in a box and a 1500x2, 3000x1 bridged lanzar amp and was wondering how to wire them up to the amp and get 1000 watts to each sub? is there some sort of splitter I have to get or some wiring trick? I've done a lot of sub wiring but never 3 subs to one bridged channel. could I get a 1000w bridged and just hook them all up to the amp in parallel and still get 1000w to each sub? help please, thanks!

that hodge-podge of budget gear isn't going anywhere if you're looking for a decent quality system. For starters, that lanzar amp won't even approach 3000w under ideal circumstances. Not sure which one you have, but the Vibe252 has three 25A fuses. Its actual output will be ~800w rms at 4 ohms bridged. The new DCT252 only has two 25A fuses and can't be much more than 500w rms. With a trio of dvc 4's and a 2 ch your best wiring option would be 6 ohms. With the amp bridged you should get 80% or so of its 4 ohm output. http://images.the12volt.com/12voltimages/3_4ohm_dvc_6ohm.gif

Getting 3 channels out of an amp designed for 2 is pretty hard. It would involve rewiring the thing (modifying the circuits) which would cost quite a lot. It would be quite a bit cheaper to get one that's actually made for 3 channels. You can hook them up 2 in series and 1 in parallel to both. As far as trying to get 1,000 watts to each with a 2 channel amp is really not doable. Just go with the 2 12" and don't turn it up all the way so the speakers don't blow.

go to (www. rockford fosgate woofer wiring wizard )and use the chart to see if you can wire the three to a bridged mono amplifier. its not a good thing to run mis matched sub woofers.i would go with the pair that matches.

Need to know the ohms of all the subs and the ohm load of the amp then your question can be answered.
