What speakers should i get?

What type of speakers and subs should i get?

  • Im getting my dads 2006 nissan altima, and im going to be buy a new stereo system first to plug in my mp3. But after that, i want to invest in speakers and subs. I really dont know anything about speakers and subs, only that subs give more bass and the normal speakers for better sound quality. I really dont like TOO much bass, but I do like it a lot to some point. So should I just get new speakers and subs? It seems subs get a little ridiculous and I want really want good quality music with bass. Should I just be new speakers and no subs? And what types should i buy> Like I said beyond that I know nothing about speakers and subs, so what should I get/look for. Not looking to spend too much as I have gift cards to best buy for the stereo. Thanks!

  • Answer:

Always buy speakers first. Subs r always last. If ur just going to power the speakers with the stereo don't buy high end speakers as its a waste of money. If ur getting an amp for the speakers, which isn't needed, then get high end speakers If u still want more bass but not a bass head get a single 10". About 200-600rms will do u great. Make sure its RMS though, not peak. And the box is the most important part. Then amp, sub. As for what best buy has, go Alpine or Kicker. Listen to them first before choosing. One person will love what another hates. If u can just buy the sub and make ur own box, my box cost me like $30 but I'm good with making stuff. If u do decide to make one just get 3/4" MDF board, wood glue, and screws Amps and subs r expensive but don't cheap out on them either or they will go bad easily and fast

I have always been extremely happy with alpine speakers and subs. If you do not want a ton of bass, you could get good bass just from a nicer set of 6x9 speakers, 5 1/2" door speakers and an amp. If you do want more bass (enough to feel the subs vibrate) you should look into getting a 10" or 12" sub and an amp. However that will be more pricey.

Before buying subs make sure you buy the amp first . well you dont have to but thats just my opinion. Higher power rated amps will run good money so buy a set of nice subs... and a solid amp. JL Audio - 12w3 subs Rockford fosgate - P2 subs Fosgate Punch amps - good Hertz Audio - ES 300 Kenwood amps soundstream amps orion amps

one of my friend has altima that car is loud as hell, 2 12 inch woofer with 4500 watts RMS amplifier that's it. infinity speakers, or alpine speakers with a good polk audio amplifier, is what I would do. who say the decent speakers don't need a decent amplifier? than what is the point of making 4 channel class A amplifiers is like not point of making those. LOL than go with http://www.audioque.com/AQ3500D1-Amplifier_p_32.html 2 12 inch woofer http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/store/products/Mayhem-12-D2-%E2%80%93Ascendant-Audio-12%22-2500W-Dual-2%252dOhm-Mayhem-Series-Subwoofer.html
