Is it hard to install car dvd built in headrests?

Can you install a subwoofer through your dvd system in car?

  • So i have a subwoofer for my car and in the back seat there is a dvd system that was built into the car with the regular red white and yellow plugs but you can also pull it out to see all the wiring behind. The dvd system goes right into the stereo system of the car so i was just wondering if the sub can be hooked up through there?

  • Answer:

That is a negative. A subwoofer needs to connected to an amp which pushes the subwoofer. The amp needs to be powered from the battery directly with a good ground source. Then you connect the rca (red and white) from stereo deck to the amp with the blue remote wire from deck to turn on and off amp. Also those red and white and yellow plugs are audio and video connections to the video displays. If your stereo deck controls that dvd system then that is where all the connections should be for audio or video.
