Can you hook up a car subwoofer to a hifi system?

  There are a couple obstacles. One - I assume you're wanting to do this in a home. The sub's power must come from a 12v source, so you'd need find a 12v power supply capable of around 20A (continuous). If you have the high level input plug for the sub you might be able to make that work ok, but I'm not sure you're going to get the best results.
