What does it mean to have a versatile voice?

What does it mean when a subwoofer has dual voice coil?

  • does it mean that if the sub is 1000 watts rms , then we have to give 1000 watts to each coil , which will end at 2000 total? or does it mean 500 to each coil or does it mean something else? (the sub has 4 inputs , 2 red and 2 black) if i have a 2 channel amp that gives 2000 watts rms at bridged mode , then how do i connect it to a dual voice coil subwoofer? (dont mind the ohm)

  • Answer:

The wattage given for any speaker will be cumulative. If it is stated to take 1000rms, that's 1000w total.
if i have a 2 channel amp that gives 2000 watts rms at bridged mode , then how do i connect it to a dual voice coil subwoofer? (dont mind the ohm)
You HAVE to be mindful of the total impedance; as there are two different ways to wire it up, and the impedance is the biggest difference amongst the two configurations.
