Italian speakers can you help me out?

Car audio help. How many speakers can I run?

  • Hey guys. I just bought (second hand of course) some new audio stuff for my car: ✰ Head unit [US Audio] ( 4 x 50w outputs) ✰ 4 Channel Sony Xplod amplifier ✰ 2 x 6" Soundstream speakers, ✰ 2 x 6"x9" Fusion speakers, 3 way 275watts, 4 OHMS ✰ 300w RMS Soundstream Tarantula sub Basically, I have 4 speakers and a sub that I want to run (but only a 4 channel amp). Since I know nothing about car audio at all (my friend is going to install this for me, hopefully) I guess I want to know what I should do. 1. Run all 4 speakers off my amp and not use my sub 2. Run 2 speakers off my amp, 2 speakers off my headunit, and then run the sub off my amp 3. Any other suggestions? To be honest, any feedback would be much appreciated!!

  • Answer:

The HU isn't 50x4. That much power isn't possible out of a HU. Most advertise something similar, but that is peak power. Actual rms power will be in the 14-22w (rms) x 4 range. I would go with option 2. Amplify the front speakers and the sub. The rears will work fine off just the HU.

This will help guide you through the process of installation. http://www.ehow.com/how_5660595_hook-up-4_channel-amp.html and your best bet is to run another amp on/off a d block " distributor block " to your sub. you won't need a very big amplifier.
