How to convert ohms to watts?

How many watts at which ohms will I need to power 2 15" Kicker SoloBaric L7's to the full rms?

• I am going to buy 2 of these subs, rms at 1000 watts each. They have a 2 and a 4 ohm model. Now, when an amp says (for example) 1100 watts @ 2 ohms over 2 different channels, does it mean that each 2 ohm woofer will get 1100 watts? Even if the amp runs at "1 ohm stable?" The sub I was looking at was the Hifonics XXV Colossus, but my friend said that it was overkill. I want an amp that will rms giving each sub 1000w so everything will be rms and not destroy itself. That sub would run both woofers, correct? I wouldn't mind saving money if I could get a simpler amp. If I got a single channel amp, how many watts would I need at which ohms in a parallel circuit to achieve the subs' rms?
