What is the best stereo system for my car?

What is the best car stereo system out there right now?

  • I'm looking for the BEST best quality sound. I really hate how media players have way too much bass that horribly distorts the sound. The ideal system would sound just like the real instruments in the music. I know what a bass drum sounds like, and its not a muffled, distorted bump. I've been hearing good things about Alpine, Kenwood, and Pioneer. I would really prefer to have one with a usb attachment, and can listen to as loud as i want without distortion. My stock 2002 Cavalier system really sucks, and the trebble is way too high. The only options I have are to adjust trebble, bass, and fade, and they all suck pretty bad. I'm not real big on subs, but I know the right ones can really help. Are there any better brands out there, or are these the best?

    ok all these other peeps didnt give u the low down. for a head unit you would want to roll with eclipse, alpine, sony, clarion or for a cheaper solution with good quality...jensen. for component speakers sony xplodes, jvc, kicker..... for subwoofers go with kicker, rockford fosgate, alpine, jl audio, memphis audio and mb quart provides a nice sound. its pretty tricky to decide on which amplifier u need. to be honest its all in the price. the more you pay the better the amp. jl audio, power acoustik, kicker, punch, cerwin vega and hifonics are the better brands. hope this helps. peace

Blah blah blah..... All the answers you have gotten are opinions based on inexperienced people with their own personal bias toward the limited number of different products that they have heard.... If you are looking for the BEST you would have to dish out around twice the $$ that your car is worth. If you were to ask what are some great speakers that would blow me away from the clarity, depth and imaging they can reproduce then I could give you an answer more within your budget...... One one individual that mentioned Focal is spot on. If you want great sound quality and you are not looking necessairly to compete then the Focal Utopia series or Focal K2P should **** your needs fine..... There are so many other factors that come into play when building a system though. You need a good head unit.... A great amp... High quality wiring and installation... Etc... Don't believe me when I said the best will cost you around double the $$ of your actual vehicles worth? ok if you want quality sound is all in the speakers. if you put speakers that can handle alot they wont distort at high volume levels. what you can do is this put infinity component speakers in the front and replace the back speakers too add in a amp for the speakers and if you dont really want big subs you can go for two 10" inch subs or maybe just one 12" or even 1 10" kicker subs in a ported box it will give you enough bass as far as the headunit go for an alpine its a good reliable stereo and has good fetures with all this in your car just adjust the system to your desires they shood give you good clean crispy sound and the subs will give you that good deep bass instead of the thump but for sure the infinity components will work what they do is they seperate the sound the high's go to the twetters and the mids to the speakers and the sub takes the low so it gives you a good clean sound instead of that distorted crap in my experiance its the best ive heard and ive installed alot of diffrent ones best of luck to you my friend
