I need an amp for my subwoofers.

How do I know if I need a new amp to install subwoofers?

  • I want to install subwoofers in my 2000 Passat, I'm just not satisfied with the bass. I have heard though that when doing this you may need a more powerful amp so as your new subwoofers don't blow out your stock amp. I really don't want to blow anything and cost myself hundreds of dollars for nothing. How can I tell what I need for the subwoofer install?

    It's really hard to get good bass from a subwoofer, and any car amp, which are commonly rated at 100% distortion.
