Can you bridge two 2 coiled subwoofers to a 2-channel amp? If so, how?
-
I have 2 15 inch subs. Each is two coiled and operates at 4000 watts max and are 4 ohm each. I have a 2-channel amp that operates at a max of 6000 watts max when bridged at 4 ohms. It is also 3000 watts max X2 at 2 ohms if you decide not to bridge it. I want to bridge it though to match the ohms of the amp and the subs. So again, is it possible to do this? Please leave descriptive yet easily understood directions on how to do this. Also, if you find a video on this that'd be awesome. Thanks.

Answer:
Wiring the subs, to 4 ohms, is really easy. You have 4 voice coils, 4 positive, and 4 negative. Take 1 subwoofer, and make a jumper, from one positive, to the opposite negative. Now you have one positive, and one negative left. That's parallel wiring. Do the same to the other subwoofer. Now you have 2 positives and 2 negatives left, on the subs. ( You now have 2 - 2 ohm subs.) Now, to series the subs, to the amp. Take the positive, on sub 1, and jump toi the open VC of sub 2. Same with the neg on sub 1, to sub 2.. Now you only have one positive and neg left. Those go to the positive on either ypur box/amp, whichever. ( If your box has terminals, they go there, then to the amp) Good Luck!
