How to remove my Alpine stereo?

How do you remove the stock stereo in a 2000 dodge durango so that an aftermarket stereo can be intalled?

  • i have a pioneer stereo that i want to put in my 2000 durango but i dont know how to remove the stock stereo and how to put the new stereo in

  • Answer:

ok it's not too hard...there should be 4 screws total.. two under your consol area where the ac/heat controls are and two at the bottom maybe near your ashtray.. then there are 4 screws holding in the factory radio that you'll need to take out... now. for cheaper install go to walmart and buy a mounting kit for your vehicle it will be about 10 to 12 dollars. now you'll want to put in your mounting bracket from your new CD player (the silver cage sleeve) bend down the tabs that you need to... then to make it easier for you also buy a wiring harness for your vehicle too.. around 7 dollars at walmart too... hook up you wires first then screw in you new mounting kit slide your wires throught the front of the mounting kit and connect them to the back of your CD player.. push your wires back in and then slide in your new radio and make sure it makes a click sound and then screw on your console area again that there ya go... good luck...
