Are there any good Indian restaurants in Bangkok?

Why don't we find many Indian waitresses in restaurants? Esp. Indian restaurants?

  • I've noticed that most Indian restaurants unlike others have male waiters instead of waitresses. Even if they do have them, they are not Indian. I was wondering if this was a reasonable observation or just co-incidence?

I never thought about that...the Indian cuisine i go to is a buffet style but i did go to another that i do remember seeing 2 waiters and no women.Hmmm

well its not a coincidence. they reason they are not waitress becuz they are the 1s who is making the tasty food in the kitchen. theres also some cultural reasons that they don;t work as a waitress too often. ur observation is correct.

Yeah, I've noticed that too. I've also noticed that the female non-Indian waitresses are not very knowledgable about the dishes and don't know how to pronouce the name and end up ordering the wrong dish. You would think that they would at least hire a female from the family to be a waitress since they are all family businesses.

For those that have answered "they are the ones making the food" you'll find that in most asian restaurants the chefs are men.
