What is it like to be a Chili's hostess?

Does anyone have any experience working as a hostess at Chilis?

  • Several years ago I worked at Ruby Tuesday as a hostess, and while I enjoyed the money and tipout, all the extra tasks that we had to do when we opened or closed could really be a pain in the ***. I worked really hard every night only to get rougly 15 dollars for tipout. I decided to try hostessing again, only this time at Chili's. I am aware that Chili's hostesses don't get tipout (right?), which is kind of a bummer...But my question is: is there a lot of sidework involved? Or do hosts justs seat guests and direct the Front of House?

  • Answer:

    lot's of extra work here, don't know if this is true at all locations. I am not impressed with the pay or the working conditions.
