What do I wear to a restaurant job interview?

I got a job interview at Japanese restaurant tomorrow. What to wear???

  • I got a interview as waiter at japanese restaurant tomrrow , Iam thinking I go in with black pants, black shoes , and a polo shirt? is that too casual? also is resturant interview hard? what will they ask me. I have few years in catering as waiter.

  • Answer:

You are right on track. Polo shirt is a good choice. No body piercing jewelry until you are hired and find out what is permitted. Guy or gal--Clean hands and nails, hair in place. Not falling around your face. Look directly at the person who is interviewing you when you are spoken to and answer well. Be sure to mention your waiter work--as you will be asked about your experience. Remark on how large the events were that you worked at as well so that they know you have experience in working with groups of people. They may even want to know if you smoke because they may not want the smoke smell on your clothes. These are all things I would want to see and know about you if you were coming to me for a job.
