How can I eat when I am disgusted by food?

Why do I get so disgusted when I see over weight people at fast food places or buffets?

  • I think I am a good person, but I feel really bad about this tendency I have of being disgusted and appalled when I see obese people at fast food restaurants and buffets, and they are not getting the "healthier options". But instead, going for the high-fat, battered, and fried foods I rarely touch myself. I rarely eat fast food, when i do, I get a salad with low calorie salad dressing or a yogurt. I feel especially bad what I see that they have children and they buy them the say horrible, high fat food! Don't they want to live for their children and be healthy to take care of them. But, I just have this urge to literally look at these people and say "What the hell are you doing?" "Stop!" I get annoyed because we have all these non-profit programs in place to reduce childhood obesity, heart disease, diabetes etc....but what is the point if these people refuse to make the right decisions in life about eating, which is not the main factor i know for these diseases, but a strong one (i obtained that information from college).

    I too get disgusted when I see this. In fact, at our local china buffet .. I see all kinds of freaks in addition to the fat people ... white trash, rednecks ... I often wonder to myself ... where do these people come from? Is this their anniversary dinner or some other special occasion, where they decided to get in the truck and drive the 30 miles to the buffet? I work in a hospital and I see fat people all the time ... diabetics who are in to have their legs amputated and they are obese ... their families bring them in fried chicken to eat and pizza ... makes me sick! These people are clueless .. it's a way of life to them and they don't know any other way ... I enjoy a good buffet myself but i'm not fat ... yet anyway!

I think it's normal. Fat people + buffet = OMGWTFBBQ.

First, it's non of your business. YOU do not have the right to judge other people. There may be something about you that disgusts other people. No one is perfect, dont judge less you be judged. People like you, disgust me!

Apparently because a buffet has the same appeal for an overweight person as Yahoo answers has for people who write pointless judgmental questions. Also, I don't quite understand your second sentence, where at the end of the sentence you state that you rarely touch yourself. That appears to not be relevant to the question.

I'm sorry, but just because there fat doesn't mean there unhealthy. And another thing so your saying it's ok to see skinny people eat fat food? Just because there skinny doesn't mean there healthy.

You should not generalize about large people. It is true that many of them are lazy oafs with limited self control and diminished intellegence, but others are overweight through no fault of their own. Some are productive members of society, take the Pillsbury Dough Boy for example. Research shows that Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, was in all likelihood morbidly obese. So please keep an open mind!
