How would I advertise a service at a resort?

Have your friend put together her portfolio. In this portfolio, she should have her resume, her business card, references, and a list of her attributes. Have this list made up at a printing company such as Kinko or even her local UPS store as they do printing, and have it printed in color; color sells, but not to overdo it. I worked at the Marriott Hotel for 5 years as a sales and catering secretary and put together many a business packet portfolio for customers, including room rate information, catering, room set-up, etc. Basically, she would be doing the same thing, except promoting and advertising herself in this field. Have her start by visiting the hotels in her area and present the hotel manager with her portfolio. She could call ahead of time to see if the manager would be available to meet with her for a few minutes, but sometimes it's best unannounced. I think it's more important to appear in person rather than "pop" things in the mail; that's the easy way out of doing things, as it only delays her quest. Have her look her best; nice business suit, heels, makeup, hair and nails perfect. Attracting the right person is what she's aiming for. Hope this helps you to help her and I wish her the best.
