My UPS shipment is going backwards?

UPS Stole my I-Touch?

  • today, a UPS man came to pick up a shipment going out of my work. We are a small company and ship straight out of the garage. My Itouch was sitting on the shipping table (a few steps the left of the PALLET that was going to be shipped) and when i came down after UPS left, it magically vanished. My boss and I were the only ones working today and we both saw it there right before UPS showed up. When I called UPS to report a stolen item, they told me UPS workers "do not do that" but would ask him to return it if he "accidentally" picked it up.....very unlikely. What should I do?

    It will be hard to prove the UPS driver stole the itouch without proof. All the UPS drivers I have ever dealt with are very honest, but every bunch has bad apples. If your garage wasn't locked UPS might take the side of it wasn't a secure area and anyone off the street could have walked in and took it. UPS should have never just blown you off like that. Don't know who you called and talked to but you need to call back and ask to speak to someone in "Loss Prevention", they are the cops of UPS and should take a report and investigate it for you. You should also file a police report with the local police and inform them that the UPS driver was the last person seen in the garage before it disappeared. CH

You have no proof that it was him if there are no cameras catching it. If you ship straight out of the garage then anyone could have just walked in and taken it. You shouldn't have had it just laying out anyway. There is nothing you can do if there isn't a GPS marker or something in your i-touch. You can't sue someone for something you have no proof of outside of circumstantial "well, I saw it and then the next time I looked it was gone" evidence. You should have been more responsible with your things. You wouldn't leave a few hundred dollars out in the open, now would you? So why it is okay for a shiny i-touch to be left alone?
