What is quartz used for?

Trying to find info on a W.H. Braun jaw crusher.Company started in 1911,I believe.Used to crush quartz rocks.?

  • This small cast iron crusher has cast writing which reads W.H. Braun Los Angeles And San Francisco,other side reads..lightning jaw crusher.The Bico-Braun Co. which makes such various equipment can find no info as yet.Believe W.H.Braun was a labratory supply MFG and this small crusher might have been used in a lab or small mining outfit to crush samples.Being all cast iron this may be from the 1920's or earlier.Looking for pics,diagrams,articles,old advertising.
