How to obtain a basic EMT certification?

EMT-I certification in Monroe County, NY?

I just received my EMT-B certification a little while ago, and am currently in the search for a job in that field. Along with that, I'm thinking about going higher in the EMS world, but don't have the time to become a paramedic. I was thinking about going for my EMT-I certification, but I heard that Monroe County doesn't recognize that, nor an EMT-CC certification. Does anybody know if there's any validity to this? or where someone can take a class for an EMT-I? ..also, if anyone knows and good places to get a job as an EMT-B, that would also be much appreciated!

Hard for me to believe they wouldn't recognize those. I might see it if it were in the Metro NYC area, but it's not. Along with the City of Rochester there's several areas of the County that are still rather rural.
