How can I start business with $ 50 k ?

• Hi Fellows, Any Idea how, and what kind of business I can start with $ 50 thousand dollar? I live in Michigan. I’m expert in CNC Programming, designing, manufacturing, and anything related to cutting material. Unfortunately I can’t start business like this with 50 k, because machining & manufacturing jobs need away more than 50k. Also I want to mention that the economy in MI is very bad. I’m really interested in giving it a shot, start new business, and see where it leads me. I appreciate any Idea. Any Idea will help. God Bless

  Hi, I don't know much about that type of industry (have you been doing this for automobiles, perhaps?), but what about freelance programming and design? Or starting a company that does programming and design for your industry? It sounds like the manufacturing would be extremely expensive, perhaps you could segment it to do the "soft" skills for that industry and others (any type of manufacturing plant would need skills like yours, I would think! Don't leave out food canning companies, or consumer product manufacturers (vacuums, household accessories/hardware, plumbing, lighting fixtures, etc.). If none of that works, a small business of any kind should work well! Use the first several thousand to secure your retail space for the months while you get started, and to get legal and financial advice, and start buying the tools and inventory you'll need to open your doors. Ideas? Try to target the baby boomer market, yet something that interests you: health and/or fitness, sports equipment, big-screen TVs and electronics, hearing aids... you get the idea. If none of that jumps out at you, then you might want to look at buying some goods wholesale and selling them at retail (either online or in a retail space).
