How do you get a work permit in Florida?

I'm 16 and I desperately need a job. I went to PacSun's website and it said: "To work at PacSun, you must be at least 16 years old and have a valid work permit where required." Rue21's website said: "To work at rue21, you need to be 16 and have a vaild work permit (if applicable)." Does this mean I need a work permit to be hired? And if so, how do I get it?
