How do i achieve my goal of becoming a veterinarian?

  • ok so i am 14, i know i cant be a veterinarian right now because i still need to go through a few years of collage once i graduate high school. But im wondering if there's a way of getting a better chance of getting that job, ( i wanted to be a veterinarian since i was five years old.) im thinking about volunteering at spokanimal which is a place where stray animals go and you have to take care of them. But sadly you have to be at least 15 years old to volunteer there, unless you have someone at least 18 years old to sponsor you. Also once i become a JR. in High school im going to go to a skill center and im going to take the veterinarian class, where you have to give shots to lots of animals and other stuff that has to do with that. so any other ideas? 1 week ago

  • Answer:

Sounds like you've got it pretty well covered. You might try joining 4-H or FFA (Future Farmers of America). Load up on science classes in jr high and high school. and be sure to keep your grades up. For some additional tips and advise, visit with your county agriculture agent.(if you have one in the Spokane area.)
