How can I get my license in NC?

• Hi, I was born and raised in north Carolina. In 2004 I moved to Memphis, tn and worked and got my license there. Then in 2008 I moved to Lima, Peru south America and just got back this Sunday to NC. However while I was in Peru I lost my TN driver's license and need to know how do I go about getting them again without taking the test again or returning to Tennessee? Any information or numbers would be helpful. Yes I contacted the DMV but they can't give information over the phone. Thank you.

  You can go to DMV and tell them that you have lost your drivers license. They can help to reinstate it. You can also obtain replacement online: http://www.tn.gov/safety/driverlicense/dlduplicate.htm You would need to provide original Birth certificate though in addition to current picture ID. You would not eligible for driver's license in NC if you do not physically live there at least part of the year. Proof of residency is required for obtaining the license.
