How can I get another trucking job?

How to get an entry level trucking job in central valley, ca. after being fired?

  • I only have six months experience, and have not worked in trucking for 2 years. I was fired by Frank Alegre Trucking. I have a perfect driving record. How can I get another trucking job?

  • Answer:

With that big of a gap and not a lot of experience odds are you will have to go back to a training company. Such as Swift, CR England, Schneider, Werner, etc. Most companies insurance providers require a driver to have recent experience unless they are in training. Most decent local companies that are hiring will want at least 1-2 years of recent experience. You might want to look into some of the ag haulers. Like Mike Lowrie Trucking, Young's Commercial Transfer, Tiger Lines, Panella, Morning Star, etc. A lot of them have training programs for ag hauling. The only downside is they usually don't pay well and you have to work 12+hr shifts 6-7 days a week.

You will probably have to hit the road for a while then you can get something local once you get some fresh time under your belt. http://www.i10trucking.com/CaliforniaTruckDrivingJobs.html
