What kind of job can a 14 year old get in north carolina?

  • i am just about to turn 14 and really need money to buy important stuff, but dont know where i could get a job. i dont want to mow grass because that doesn't make very much profit. if anybody has a job that they know a 14 year old could get please tell me thanks

    First of all mowing, yard work, raking leaves, touch up painting on fences or pressure washing driveways, cleaning gutters...is VERY profitable. I believe you have to be 16 to get a workers permit, before you can get an hourly job. That may sound like more money, but when you start paying(or more to the point they start taking taxes) you will wish you were doing the yard work for cash money. If you make for example $7.00 an hour, and you work about 20 hours a week, that is $140.00. You will have about $50.00 taken out of your check for taxes. So you clear (or take home) about $90.00 a week. I don't know about you but that is serious money. I'll take that non taxed yard work any day of the week and twice on Sunday...Oh but don't work on Sunday, we're in the bible belt! :~)

I'm 17 and in North Carolina. You can't get your workers permit til about 15 or 16, so unless you have a family business, or know someone who will let you into their shop, then you're out of luck. work for a landscaper i did when i was 15 if you work hard you can get 8 an hour very good pay for the age and if you are too lazy to mow grass no one will hire you but if you work hard and build a reputation you will have more work than you know what to do with
