Need help with using a local Pawn Shop?

  • Just curious as to how a pawn shop works, and if you can only pawn items or if they will purchase them from you for cash. Have some bills coming up and just a little short on money til my next pay check comes in. These are the items i'm thinking about taking to the pawn shop tomorrow.. These are the following items i would like to sell, and am wondering if a pawn shop is interested in these kind of items: Garmin Nuvi 260w 4.3 inch screen University of Kentucky basketball(autographed by former coach Billy G) Ipod Nano 2 gig-first generation Ipod mini- first generation Carerra Ski Goggles Sharper Image- Vehicle Jump Starter Kit Pair of Motorola TALKABOUT T5820 2-way Radios Various DVD's and maybe a couple of other items. but do these items sound like something a pawn shop would be interested in buying from me. And i've heard they rip you off but would i get a decent amount of money. I need about a 100 dollars. Any advice at all would be helpful i'm just looking for some feedback. Thanks All!

    Yeah they would probably be interested in those items. Depends on the shop though. They will probably low ball you, so be prepared for a low offer and try to bargain. You can always try craigslist or EBay.
