How to get a job with no work experience?

How can I get a forklift job when I don't have any work experience?

• I am a trained and certified forklift operator, but I have spent the last two years hopelessly trying to find a job in vain. Every single place I apply, they always want at least a year's worth of experience. It's very frustrating when I just want a damn job which would also count as experience. I mean, if no one will hire you due to your lack of experience then how the hell are you supposed to get any experience? It's all so damn hypocritical. I have tried looking for these kind of jobs through job fairs, career searches, applying for ads in the papers, and even through temp agencies, and nothing ever comes back to me. Are there special connections I should try establishing? Try talking to certain people? etc... Please give me some ideas if I missed something.

  The sad thing is, right now, forklift drivers are a dime a dozen. Industrial layoffs have flooded the job market with experienced people, which makes it tough for you dudes like you. You may need to lower your expectations and make a move on a ticket filler position, or loading and unloading (by hand) until the job market gets better.
