How much does home depot pay hourly for just a regular retail position?

10 POINTS: who here has worked at HOME DEPOT? need some advice?

  • i have an interview this thursday and i am kind of nervous. i had some questions: - first of all, is working at home depot worth it? - what's the work environment like? - is the management nice? - for a cashier, is it stressful or laid back? - i am applying for a cashier position. what's the starting pay? - are they flexible with hours? - what should i wear to the interview?

  • Answer:

I've worked with home depot as a cashier for about a year now and its a pretty good job. They started me at 9.25, but then you get a .50 cent raise at 3 months. Most of the time its pretty laid back, but it depends where the store is. Our district is pretty slow right now. they are SUPER flexible with hours. I am a full time student and they have never given me problems with my weird schedule. This is one of the things I really like about home depot. The only thing that sucks in the beginning is all the computer training classes that you have to take. It took me like 5 days to finish them, and they don't put you on a register until you are done. Well, hope this helps. Good luck with your interview!
