In Illinois, if I work full time but have a huge pay cut, can I collect unemployment?
-
At my job, I have been making $55,000 a year and now my boss wants to cut me down to $30,000 a year working the same full time hours and cutting off my benefits (insurance, sick pay, etc). Can I still qualify for unemployment in Illinois or no? I do not want to quit, I heard about getting hours reduced and getting unemployment but what about huge pay cuts with no change in hours?

Answer:
No. The max weekly benefit in your state is about $550 which is less then you are making now.
