How and where would i get work permit im 14 and i live in north carolina?

  Age Requirement: A work permit is required for anyone under age 16. Unfortunately, many of the businesses do not post the age requirement in the papers. Most that are listed below require 16 or older. However, there are some businesses that will say 18 when you call them. For those younger than 16, it is more difficult. Many businesses are reluctant to hire under 16 due to the laws concerning hours of work. For those younger than 16, most of the time students must think about some fast food places, swimming pools (concession stands), and perhaps some small privately-owned stores or businesses. Younger students should go into the place of business with a mature attitude, let the employer know of their strengths (reliable, good transportation, quick learner, good communication skills, etc.) Sometimes employers will take a chance. You may pick up a Work Permit in the MHS Attendance Office. It's a Tough Job Market Out There Advice: Students are competing with adults for jobs! Don't quit your job if you have one. Many businesses are not advertising in the paper. The best way to find a job is through networking; tell everyone that you are looking and what you can do.
