Can you find out and ip of an email sent from an iphone to a yahoo account?

My siser has been receiving mesages from an unknown girl on facebook. afyer blocking her she sent an email from her iphone to my sisters yahoo address. i know that from email to email u can always track down the ip when an email is sent, but does it work the same when the emai is sentfrom an iphone? this girl even manages to get into my sisters friend email account so i am guessing it is someone smart and good with it stuff,,but she if really invading her privacy and being rude..we ar trying to find out who she/he is..
