How come i cant access my email?

I recently bought a PSN card and the code comes in your email, i used paypal for it. The email comes in your paypal email, however i cannot access my paypal email. It is an ntlworld email, but when i go onto the ntlworld site and try to log in with the same paypal email it says '' unable to find username ''.
