How do i cancel my yahoo account?

I want to cancel my Yahoo mail account, how do i do that?

  • I want to erase it, i'm not going to use it again, so i want to know how i can get rid of it. can you get rid of it? i want to get rid of it because when i first did my email, i realized that i spelled it totally wrong, and it was to late to fix that. also i'm getting over 100 spam messages a day!! i want the same email address, but i just want to have it spelled right. yahoo wont let me have the same email adress, i gues they're too close or something. so if i cancle mine, maybe it'll let me have the one that i want. so how do i cancel it!!???? but i only want to cancel the email, not anything else.

    The only way I've found of getting a Yahoo! mail account closed is to simply abandon it. If you don't check it for something like 30 days, the Yahoo! team will automatically close it.

If customer service will not let you change your email address, you may want to try adding a new account with the name you want and if that is not available, there may be something else you could accept. If you do get a new account, let the people in you address book know that you have changed your email address and just do not use the other account. It will then become "Inactive." Good luck, hope they have the name you want to use. You may have modify it slightly by using a period between names or add a number to it.. :)

if u want to give up yahoo u need to delete entire account visit Account Deletion page. https://edit.yahoo.com/config/delete_user u will be asked to sign in to or verify ur password for the account u wish to delete. after the deletion process is initiated, ur account can never be recovered. goodluck ^_^
