What happens to Yahoo Mail Classic after 09/16/2011?

  • Today I was told that I would be reminded to change to the new Yahoo Mail from my Classic account every single time I log on until the 16th of September 2011. What happens to my Classic account if I refuse to change past this date? I can find absolutely no information anywhere on when Yahoo Mail Classic will expire for good. Does anybody have precise information regarding those issues?

    Yahoo has stated that the Classic mail will remain. It's the previous New Mail that is being discontinued. Replaced with the New Yahoo mail. If Yahoo discontinued the Classic, then those with older computers and dial up wouldn't be able to access their mail. So the classic is not going anywhere. I'm using it and have not gotten any messages. Twice a small pop up appeared on my mail screen offering to me, I just click the X at the top corner and that was it.
