How do I set up Yahoo! Mail on my mobile phone?

How come I cannot set up a Yahoo mail alert to forward messages to my phone?

  • I have a Motorola RIZR and unlimited texting and I would really love to be able to at least be notified that I got an email in my account (It would be even cooler if I could read them on my phone but that would probably require me to pay for online connection with my phone). I tried adding the 'Mail' category to my list of alerts but every time I get to the point of saving my newly added filter I get stuck on what to do because the 'Mail' category STILL isnt under my list of alerts. Please help me! What do I have to do after saving my new filter?! Thanks in advance. p.s. Is there a setting for my filter that will let me receive all my mail instead of mail that meets the requirements?

    You need to get web access on your phone for this to work. If you do buy web access $7/month with Verizon, you can access your Yahoo account via phone. I have done it for years now. I think you can use Yahoo Messenger to alert you of mail though if you don't want web access. I believe it will forward a text alert.
