How can i go back to old yahoo mail page?

  • Answer:

Hello there, There are only TWO versions of Yahoo! Email left, Classic and the new Regular. All the other Yahoo Email versions Yahoo! has dropped and eliminated. There are several options available for you. #1) The are THREE links that worked today, August 27, 2011, (I have 3 more if these stop working) that will RETURN and launch your email back to the ORIGINAL Classic Mail, but you may need to continue clicking on the links each time you log in. It would be good to bookmark them, save to your favourites or email them to yourself. http://us.mc598.mail.yahoo.com/mc/launch http://us.mc598.mail.yahoo.com/mc/welcome http://mrd.mail.yahoo.com/switchclassic If you click on the link and it does not automatically open up to Classic mail, copy & paste the address from your browser into a new window, and press enter. If for some reason, these links do not work for you please send me an email via the Yahoo! Answers secure email system, and I will send you a different link. (I do not see your email and you do not see my email address.) A while back as I was checking to see if they were still functioning at a friend’s, one of those links above launched into a full page of advertising for the new mail, in the small print ¾ of the page down and to the right there was an option to click that said ‘Return to Classic’. I immediately took a screen shot and saved it as a picture, and I have had other friends do the same. This is what it LOOKS like: https://sites.google.com/site/classicyastuff/ (This link takes you to a site I MADE to share with you so that you could see what the screen looks like). Newest is a Canadian friend of mine logged in not long ago, and the expected ‘Click here to continue to Classic mail was NOT there. They clicked on everything except for going to the new, and found that clicking on help lead them to a page that allowed them to go on to Classic again. That picture is posted, but the original screen is not, sorry. The report from Yahoo! is that you will need to choose EVERY TIME you open your email to stay with Classic mail, and click on the proper link until September 19, 2011, but the date keeps changing over the last few weeks. #2 Numerous solutions for various browsers and different versions of Windows people use, this is the best solution. Link to: is http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20110711182440AA5aBbB The link is to an answer given by another person, Katie M, who posted a very good answer that addresses multiple browsers and Windows here on Yahoo! Answers to help you switch back. From what other Yahoo! users have email to me and from what I have read on some other Yahoo! Answers posts, disabling the scripting and lowering the resolution does NOT permanently work on a number of computer, primarily those running WINDOWS 7. You will need to either disable scripting or lower resolution EACH time you log in. For others it DOES continue to work, running Windows XP, VISTA, etc. #3 Let Yahoo! know that you would like the original Yahoo! Classic instead of the new. I would email them daily. Link is below. #4 Should you choose to keep working with the new mail there are a number of things you can try to make it work better for you. Update your Adobe Flash Player, and Java script. Check for updates for your version of Windows. Check for updates for your browser (s) Internet Explorer (IE), Safari, Google Chrome, Modzilla Firefox etc. Clear out your cache, cookies, temporary files and browsing history. The easiest method to clean out those files is press simultaneously Ctrl, Shift and Delete keys while your browser window is still OPEN. This also deletes your passwords and banking information. Or view this page for further information: http://www.wikihow.com/Clear-Your-Browser's-Cache #5 You may consider trying an alternate browser. #6 I used to suggest purchasing a Yahoo! Plus account, because there USED TO BE an option to go back to Classic, but that option is NOT there anymore. I found that out as I was trying to answer a question for another Yahoo user. After numerous attempts of trying to reach chat I was finally able to get through. (More info on my profile page.) They asked during/while they switched it back for my reasons, and that I should provide a list right there and there. Have your list ready to copy and paste into the chat window. You will also need to give them answers to your security questions, DOB, alternate email address, cell phone, etc. to confirm you are who you are. I changed the answers to all my security questions since. Direct link to chat page, you will have to wait for it to load before the chat window shows up: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/ymail/forms_index.html;_ylt=AjdqjW6dguEo.zm7Uq_IOqQaYHtG?last_url=http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/ymail/migrating/fromclassic/mltamnoswitch.html All the best to you, and I hope that this helped you. NEW YAHOO! MAIL IS STILL UNSTABLE....IT WOULD BE BEST TO GO BACK TO YOUR PREVIOUS VERSION OF YAHOO! MAIL... To go back to YAHOO! MAIL CLASSIC... Turn off Javascript - you'll then be asked if you want to return to Mail Classic, click "yes". If you don't know how to turn off Javascript... For SAFARI: Open SETTINGS>click PREFERENCES>>click SECURITY>>Uncheck ENABLE JAVA and ENABLE JAVASCRIPT IMPORTANT:Remember to RE-ENABLE JAVA and JAVASCRIPTING back ON when you are back in Mail Classic because without it some mail functions won't work. For IE: Open TOOLS > INTERNET OPTIONS >> SECURITY. In security click "CUSTOM LEVEL" -> disable active scripting in the scripting section. IMPORTANT:Remember to turn JAVASCRIPTING back ON when you are back in Mail Classic because without it some mail functions won't work. For FIREFOX: Open TOOLS -> OPTIONS -> CONTENT, click on "DISABLE JAVASCRIPT". Now hit F5 to refresh the page while you are in Yahoo! email in order to switch back... In the options, click (PERMANENT) to switch back to YAHOO! Classic. DO NOT click the "ONE TIME ONLY" option. IMPORTANT: Turn JAVASCRIPT back ON once you have your "CLASSIC" account back. The easiest way to switch back to Yahoo Classic is to use either of the following link each time you open your mail - save the Bookmark as a Favorite. http://us.mc598.mail.yahoo.com/mc/welcome http://us.mc598.mail.yahoo.com/mc/launch There are now only two choices - the former Beta, now called Regular Mail, and the old Classic Mail. The former 'All-New' mail has disappeared, replaced by Beta. The change back to Classic can be done with a small (temporary) change. Either disable Javascript or lower the screen resolution. Log out of your account before trying these, then log in afterwards. Once you have switched back to Classic Mail, change these settings back again. 1. For Internet Explorer, go to Tools > Internet Options > Security > Custom level. In the scripting section, disable active scripting. For Firefox and Chrome, go to Tools > Options > Content and un-check Enable JavaScript. This solution is not successful with all versions of Windows 7. 2. Lower the screen resolution one stage at a time in the Control Panel > Personalization > Display section. (Normally it is 1024 x 768 or higher).Once it is too low, when you open Mail you are asked to switch to Mail Classic > click Yes. There will be some waiting, flashing, and scrolling, but the screen shows up eventually. If all else fails, try contacting Yahoo! Customer Service, but you will need to be persistent to talk to a human, and must 'insist' on switching versions USA (6am to 6 pm, Pacific Standard Time) 1-866-562-7219, 1-800-318-0631, Yahoo Personal Email: 1-866-492-4664

ON your yahoo mail page, at the top it should say Classic Mail...you click on that and it changes. Or, you can go to the Help feature, look up classic mail or original yahoo and it'll show you how to change it.
