Has anyone ever heard of Choice Mail?

What is up with Yahoo trying to force me to use the "new" mail?

  • I tried yahoos new mail about a month back. Absolutely horrible ! How did they come up with such an idea ? I used it for a few days and wanted to revert back to old mail. Impossible, I had to get on answer/question to find a way. It basically boiled down to "tricking yahoo mail" but I did what I was told and suddenly had old mail back That was a few months ago, now I noticed yesterday there were pop ups telling me to try the new mail but I ignored. Today when I tried to get on mail it would not let me. There was no choice of switch or continue with old mail. I tried several times but it appears I am locked out unless I switch. Any one else having same problem? Anyone know how to over ride this ?

    If the "old" mail you're talking about is Classic----you don't have to upgrade to the new version-----Just click "NO Thanks---keep me with Classic". IF you're using the "All New Mail"---which WAS the one between Classic and Beta---then you have no choice. It IS being eliminated (and in most cases already has been) replaced with the Beta version. At that time---I think you are given an option to switch to Classic.

(1) James, are you saying they plan on charging if you wish to use Yahoo Classic mail instead of the new version if you don't have a paid (Mail Plus) account? (2) Also, my other Yahoo mail account is a Plus (paid) mail account and today (7/21) when I logged in I got a pop-up asking me (before getting to my folders) to try new Yahoo mail verson and thankfully I saw in little letters underlined near the bottom 'take me' ('keep') to 'Yahoo Mail Classic', clicked on that and knock-on-wood it's been kept as Yahoo Mail Classic (3) about 3 weeks ago when I logged into my Plus (paid) mail account it just opened it up as the new version and luckily under options on right side was the drop-down choice to switch back to Yahoo Classic and it just required I fill out feedback forrn for me to convert back to Yahoo Mail Classi. (4) Regarding question #2 above, are we going to keep seeing this every few weeks and if so for how long? (5) the 6/20/11 info update from Yahoo says we can (knock-on-wood) keep Yahoo Mail Classic but prompts will appear for a while to change. Is option to keep as Yahoo Mail Classic only available to paid (Plus) accounts or will it remain option for free mail accounts too? Thanks in adv for your insight! :)

Everyone needs to flood them with the complaints. By end of next month everyone will be forced to change to even newer along with all browser upgrades to be able to use it. I finally was able to get a response from corporate about this. I think they plan on starting to charge for it like their premium services.

The new mail will eventually be forced on us, but it will also get better as time goes by. The reason it is being forced is that when IPv6 ( the new Internet Protocol comes in the old mail will not be compatible. Basically it will be this or nothing.
