How do I set Yahoo mail as my default mail provider?

How can I set Yahoo mail to be my default email program?

  • I dowloaded Yahoo messenger, and set Yahoo mail as my default. Yet, now out-of-the-blue, my computer set Windows mail as the default, and Yahoo mail is not in the drop-down box under internet options, even though Yahoo messenger is still installed and working properly. This is really weird. Can anyone explain; 1) Why this happened 2) How to set Yahoo mail as my default, without downloading Yahoo messenger (which is already on my computer). Thanks alot!!

    I have the same problem and was told that if you have Outlook installed Windows uses that as your default. I don't know how to solve the problem without uninstalling Outlook, which I don't think I want to do yet.
