I have mail that I don't want sent to my house, is there a way I can just pick it up pat the post office?

    You can buy a private post office box at the post office and have it sent there. In that case you are the only person with the key. You can pay for a year at a time and no one knows you have it. I think you can put a hold on your mail (like if you were to go for a long vacation) but in that situation they would hold all the mail, not just certain pieces.

No. the post office will deliver mail to the address on the letter or send all of it to a new address. They will not sort it for you. If you want some mail to go to a different address, either get a P.O. Box at the post office or go to one of the mailing centers and buy one there. The advantage of a mailing center is that they have a regular street address and will accept packages. Some companies won't mail to a P.O. Box. I found a couple of links below. You can get a mailing address from a UPS store (Mail Boxes, Etc.). Other companies may offer this service, too.
