I WANT REGULAR YAHOO MAIL BACK!!!??? How to I get contact Yahoo?
-
Tried to upgrade to the new Yahoo mail from just plain regular Yahoo Mail. They said my computer wouldn't take it, so rather then spend hours messing around trying to get my computer compatible, I canceled that upgrade. They put me in Yahoo Mail CLASSIC and it STINKS!!!! I have to give my I.D. and password every time I log into mail. I've done that 5 times in the last 24 hours. Also, when I delete items, I don't know where they are going. My trash is ALWAYS empty. Often, my mail freezes or I can't log into my contacts, so to send someone an email, I have to go back to my inbox, find one of their older messages, open it up and send a message through REPLY. And, of course, I can't go back to regular Yahoo Mail. About a week after my upgrade attempt, I ran into something in the help pages or somewhere that said after 48 hours, it is too late to go back, Also, my whole computer is doing strange things sometimes. Other people on YA have said the new Yahoo Mail has adversely affected their computers, also. How do I contact Yahoo? They don't like to hear from us.

Answer:
I have continued to use Yahoo Classic with no difficulty, both on XP and Win 7 systems. 'Regular Mail' is the old Beta version, not compatible with all computers. You can click the 'Save my password' to your computer command, or use a bookmarked Favorite of your signed in page - it works for me every time. You do have to sign in every 24 hours, unless you also click the 'Sign in every two weeks' button, but that is not recommended if anyone ever can access your computer.

To Switch Back... http://mrd.mail.yahoo.com/switchclassic click on this link for the switch back.but as with everything there is a snag. You need to put it into your favourites and click on it everytime you want to go to the classic mail page. OR. Droping the screen resolution will do it Click on Start-control panel-appearance & theme- display-settings then slide the level indicator to its lowest and click on Yes. And then turn it back on,when your back to Classic. Then if you have Yahoo Mail Plus you have the option of switching back.At a cost $19-99 a year Have a great day, good luck. J R :)

The current version replaced "All New Mail" - now it's either that or Yahoo Mail Classic... Once you have the new Mail Regular, you will no longer be able to switch back to All New Mail and/or see a switch-back link to Mail Classic, but I'm slightly visually impaired and found an interesting workaround a few weeks ago to at least get back to Mail Classic: lower your screen resolution, and as soon as it's too low for the new mail, you will get a message displayed asking if you want to switch to Mail Classic. Click "yes". Of course you can switch back to your original screen resolution once you have mail classic back..:-) Another option: turn off Javascript - you'll then be asked if you want to return to Mail Classic, click "yes". In case you don't know how to turn off Javascript... For IE: tools -> internet options -> security. In security click "custom level" -> disable active scripting in the scripting section. Remember to turn Javascripting back on when you are back in Mail Classic since without it some mail functions won't work For Firefox: tools -> options -> content, click on "disable Javascript". Now hit F5 to refresh the page while you are in yahoo email in order to kick in the option (permanent) to switch back to classic. Do not click on the "one time" option. Turn it back on once you have your "Classic" account back.

NEW YAHOO! MAIL IS STILL UNSTABLE....IT WOULD BE BEST TO GO BACK TO YOUR PREVIOUS VERSION OF YAHOO! MAIL... To go back to YAHOO! MAIL CLASSIC... Turn off Javascript - you'll then be asked if you want to return to Mail Classic, click "yes". If you don't know how to turn off Javascript... For SAFARI: Open SETTINGS>click PREFERENCES>>click SECURITY>>Uncheck ENABLE JAVA and ENABLE JAVASCRIPT IMPORTANT:Remember to RE-ENABLE JAVA and JAVASCRIPTING back ON when you are back in Mail Classic because without it some mail functions won't work. For IE: Open TOOLS > INTERNET OPTIONS >> SECURITY. In security click "CUSTOM LEVEL" -> disable active scripting in the scripting section. IMPORTANT:Remember to turn JAVASCRIPTING back ON when you are back in Mail Classic because without it some mail functions won't work. For FIREFOX: Open TOOLS -> OPTIONS -> CONTENT, click on "DISABLE JAVASCRIPT". Now hit F5 to refresh the page while you are in Yahoo! email in order to switch back... In the options, click (PERMANENT) to switch back to YAHOO! Classic. DO NOT click the "ONE TIME ONLY" option. IMPORTANT: Turn JAVASCRIPT back ON once you have your "CLASSIC" account back.
