Is there ANY way to stop yahoo email alerts to my cell phone?

For the past few days I've been getting yahoo email alerts to my cell phone from an EMAIL THAT ISN'T MINE. I've tried contacting the person whose email shows up in the text message, but they say that they've never even seen my cell number before. Is there ANY way to stop the alerts from being sent to my cell phone if I have no way of getting into the email from which it's being sent? I mean, text messages cost money. THANKS TO ANYONE WHO CAN HELP!
Answer:

If it's from Yahoo! mail, you can try going to alerts.yahoo.com and attempting to change your preferences... or call your cellphone provider and see if they can block the sender. sorry this is happening!
