How does yahoo e-mail account get infected by virus?

Has anyone else gotten an email from YAHOO saying your account has been infected with a trojan virus?

  • this email contains a "recover" link....I dont if this is a scam or not

  • Answer:

I have never gotten one before. I would not trust it. Run your own virus scan if you have a virus then it will show up on the scan. I would not download something I was not sure of. I have never heard of yahoo doing this. Good luck!!!

Yes, I just received one too. I stupidly tried to do the recover link but it's not valid. I'm "spamming" the message and than running my virus software. I hope it didn't infect the computer.

DO NOT reply. This is a phishing scam attempting to get you to give them all your personal info. It's not from Yahoo, just delete it and ignore it. Good luck and be careful.

Well did you notice if there was an exclamation mark at the end of Yahoo, or the purple logo on the email. That will tell you right there it's not from Yahoo. If you click on links you could then end up with a virus. That's what it's all about. Just delete it. It's a scam
