How do I know my incoming mail server and server provider?

When adding an e-mail to Outlook, dow do you know what the server information is?

  • For example, how whould I know what the "Incoming Mail Server (POP3)" or the "Outgoing Mail Server (STMP)" is? I have a yahoo e-mail account so could somebody help guide me through the steps on adding a yahoo e-mail account to Microsoft Outlook? I am new at this so your help is greatly appreciated!!!

  • Answer:

In the box labeled "My incoming mail server is a…" select "POP3" server. Type "pop.mail.yahoo.com" in the Incoming Mail (POP3 or IMAP) Server box. Type "smtp.mail.yahoo.com" in the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server box. Click "Next." In the Account Name box, enter your Yahoo! Mail ID (your email address without the "@yahoo.com"). In the Password box, enter your Yahoo! Mail password. Check "Remember Password" if you don't want Outlook to prompt you for your password each time you check your mail.
