How do I delete empty folders on BT Yahoo?

Newest version of BT Yahoo mail: no "TO" column in folders?

  • The problem I experienced in October (see below - loss of the TO column in saved mail folders) was corrected by a BT engineer returning me to the last version. However, when I went on line this morning, I was forced to go the the new version of BT Yahoo mail. This has exactly the faults I described in my e-mail to you on 2 October. I DO NOT WANT TO USE THE NEW AND DYSFUNCTIONAL VERSION OF YAHOO.. Please get me back to the version I was using yesterday 21 Nov 2011 immediately. I am copying this onto a BT complaint form in their web site. I would have continued using the previous version, but was not given this opportunity Until I changed to the latest version, I could move e-mail from my IN and SENT boxes to the various e-mail folders I use to keep organised: and when I look at these e-mails in the folders I could see TO column, FROM column; along with summary, attachments etc. With the new system, emails from and to me that I have moved into my folders do not show the TO column any more, only FROM. This is a deterioration in quality and functionality. Please re-instate this facility. I will abandon Yahoo if this is not done quickly, and I suspect many others will do the same. By copy to BT: (via their complaints web site) I thought BT were my ISP and e-mail service. I have no contract with Yahoo - they are your sub-contractors. I will quit BT unless this fault is corrected quickly.

  • Answer:

I have just been put forcibly on to this new layout - and I am incandescent with rage. It is appalling - slow, confused, irrational and messy. So many things ..... today alone I noticed yet more faults: eg it has edited my Contacts List without any input from me - and of course it did it incorrectly, so yet more time wasted trying to put it back together again. Simply typing and sending an e-mail is now a time-consuming frustrating task. Of course I have been in contact with BT, and although the responses I have had have been courteous and rapid, they do not take responsibility and say it is down to Yahoo; they say they will be passing my comments on to them. They did revert me to Classic Yahoo, but that was bad, and it seems that there is no way of getting back my old version. It seems like we are hitting our heads against an immense brick wall and that we are powerless. I just can't understand why we have no choice in the matter, and how they can get away with saying that this new version is quicker and easier when it so obviously isn't. I was told that they were aware that some small improvements are be made ...... my reply was to ask why we the customers were being used as guinea-pigs for a system that wasn't fully functioning! Do let me know if you make any head way. Regards.
