How to get rid of Mailer Daemon?

Why do I no longer get "Mailer daemon" notifications?

For years when I entered an incorrect "TO" address, my email was returned by Mailer Daemon. This was important to me as I learned that my message had not reached its destination. Howver, for the past two years, I haven't gotten any notification-- even when I intentionally enter an incorrect address. Please tell me how to get this feature operational again. Thank you very much.
